This past year has been crazy with wedding festivities. I’m so excited to finally get back into the swing of things and be able to dedicate more time to my cake creations!!
This cupcake tier was for a loyal client of mine. Her son was turning 5 and had a NinjaGo themed birthday party. I also made NinjaGo cake pops for his school birthday party.
The faces on the cupcakes were chocolate wafers that I made using melting chocolates. All the details on the cake were made out of fondant. I actually like how the draping of the masks turned out – they look pretty awesome. The cake toppers were his action figure toys.
For all you Star Wars fans out there!
Over a year ago, I had gone to a birthday dinner, for which a cake was ordered from Charm City Cakes (aka Duff) in Maryland. The cake was the head of a Boba Fett from Star Wars. I thought it was so awesome, but when I asked how much they paid, I was shocked (and appalled)! Noooo way, I could totally make that cake myself!
So when a loyal client of mine told me her son was obsessed with Star Wars and she needed a cake for his 5th birthday, I knew exactly what I was going to make! His favorite character was Jango Fett, so this helmet head cake was the star of the cupcake tier. Each of the cupcakes were topped with cut-out fondant faces of various storm troopers (unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of those). The look on his face when he saw the cupcake tier was absolutely priceless – his jaw literally dropped in amazement. It made me sooo happy to see that!!!! 🙂
I made these cute Octonaut cupcakes for a child’s school birthday party. Everything was cut-out of fondant and pieced together. They are so adorable!
(no, not for me..yet..let’s get through the wedding first haha)
Looks like 2012 is the year to have babies!
First cake to kick off baby season:
Baby boy theme with duck, building block, and baby rattle, stamped with footprints
Yup, that would be Buzz Lightyear. This was the cupcake tower I made for [My Cousin] Vinny’s 2nd birthday with a Toy Story theme. Everything was sculpted out of fondant and modeling chocolate. I had so much fun crafting the little details of Buzz..even down to the “Vinny” inscribed on the bottom of his foot 🙂
